VODAFONE - DONGLE IS NOT SEEN by the router

Some Vodafone modems do not connect and are not even recognised by the router, we suggest you follow the guidelines below.

FIRST Check that the modem is on the 'working' list:- click HERE

We have most frequently seen this with the K4505 modem.

To see if you are having this issue go to the router setup the MODEM > SETTINGS and you will see this :-

IF IT DOES NOT check that the modem is on the 'working' list!:- click HERE

The issue is that the modem / dongle has not been fully initialised. To do this you need to use a laptop and let the Vodafone connection manager to fully initialise the modem.

Easiest way to do this is un-install the Vodafone connection manager, plug in the modem and let it go through the setup process and install the connection manger, wait for the modem to connect, and it will be fully ready to go. If you just plug in a modem and the connection manager is already installed it WILL NOT fully set up the modem.

If the modem still does not connect but does appear in the router's setup MODEM screen, you MAY then need to set the APN  .....
